There are many ways in which individuals and funders can get involved in the communities of opportunity initiative. Volunteers: Throughout our effort, volunteers will be needed to help support residents, share their expertise, and just plain roll up their sleeves and get involved. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering please visit SFConnect to see what opportunities are coming up click here. Donors: COO is a partnership between the City of San Francisco, residents of our communities, nonprofits, and the philanthropic community. While the city has pledged 75% of the funds required to launch COO, philanthropic funding is needed to support the program office and fund innovative new programs until the city is able to take them on.
