Resident Assistance Program

RAPThe Resident Assistance Program (RAP) is designed to help residents who are behind in their rent get current and get ready for the HopeSF redevelopment. One of the promises of HopeSF is that the new development will benefit all of the residents who are there now. One of the major issues that often prevents current residents from being able to stay after development is owing back rent. The RAP provides new, more affordable plans for paying off back rent, and even provides a “good standing grant” to people who make consistent payments for 2 years. This program ensures that any resident who sticks with the plan will eliminate all of their back rent before redevelopment, eliminating that as a barrier to staying in the community. The RAP is a powerful tool to fight gentrification and deliver the promise of HopeSF to the current residents of these communities.
